I'm Sonya Wright.
Founder of Brandon May Hair, blonde specialist and creator of The WRIGHT Method.
For over 20 years I've worked in the hair industry, and for the last 14 years I've owned and grown Brandon May Hair, a trusted, premium, colour salon in Didsbury alongside an incredible team.
Throughout my career I've taught, worked backstage, styled weddings, travelled, trained and continually refined my skills and knowledge.
But the thing that has stayed constant is my passion and curiosity.
I've always wanted to understand why.
Why one blonde feels effortless.
Why another feels heavy.
Why one consultation creates complete trust.
Why small adjustments can completely change a result.
Some people see a blonde.
I see consultation, placement, tension, product choice, timing, lift and finish.
I've always been fascinated by the details.
The details that create confidence.

That attention to detail has shaped the way I work, the way I teach and ultimately the way I think about hairdressing.
Over the years, those observations became a method.

Sonya has thing taught me how different blonding techniques can be adapted to suit each client. From highlights and scalp bleaches to balayage. Also how important consultation, placement, and protecting the health of the hair are. This has helped me become much more confident in creating beautiful blondes.
I learnt how to use a new sectioning pattern to create a gorgeous highlight look. I also learnt how I can adapt the sectioning to slightly alter the look.

Sonya spent so much time carefully going through each strand to help me achieve the most beautiful sun kissed look. The highlights are so soft and natural that it genuinely doesn’t even look like I’ve had bleach, it just looks like my hair has been lightened naturally by the sun which is exactly what I wanted!!
